RTP (Return to Player)

RTP is the percentage of wagers a game returns to players over the long run. What it measures, how to read it, and what it does not guarantee.

Also known as: return to player, theoretical payout

Definition

RTP (Return to Player) is the theoretical percentage of wagered money a game pays back to players over the very long run. A 96% RTP means that, across millions of rounds, the game returns on average €96 for every €100 staked; the remaining 4% is the house edge.

It is a statistical, aggregate figure, not a promise about a single session: in the short term results swing wildly because of volatility. RTP never predicts when a win will come, nor does it make any round "due". On Spinlytics we compare the declared theoretical RTP with the outcome distribution actually observed over the last 24 hours.
