What the Accessibility Widget does
The widget is accessible by clicking the blue button with the person icon, fixed in the bottom-left corner on all pages. It offers 9 independent features, freely toggleable:

2. High contrast

4. Dyslexia font
Replaces fonts with Arial/Helvetica with increased spacing between letters and words. Makes text more readable for people with dyslexia.
5. Text spacing
Increases line height, letter spacing and word spacing across all paragraphs. Generally improves page readability.
6. Underline links
Adds underlines to all links on the page. Useful for those who cannot distinguish links from regular text by color alone.
7. Focus highlight
Highlights the keyboard-focused element with a bright yellow border. Essential for those navigating without a mouse.
8. Reading guide
A horizontal bar follows the mouse cursor indicating the line being read. Particularly useful for those with concentration difficulties or attention disorders.
9. Pause animations
Stops all CSS animations and transitions. Essential for those with vestibular disorders or photosensitive epilepsy — respects the prefers-reduced-motion standard.
Persistence and privacy
All preferences are saved automatically in the browser via localStorage — no data is sent to our servers. On your next visit, the widget remembers exactly your settings. No additional cookies, no tracking.
Accessibility of the widget itself
The widget is fully keyboard navigable (Tab, Enter, Escape to close) and uses correct ARIA attributes: aria-expanded, aria-controls, role="dialog". Buttons have aria-label in Italian and English. The widget is never hidden or distorted when high contrast or grayscale modes are active — it remains always usable.
